Extension of cooperation with Pilkington Poland

We are pleased to report that on 1^st of April 2024, Nijman/Zeetank extended its cooperation with Pilkington Polska with a new service relating to float line production and maintaining specialised equipment used throughout the process.

Our company is now responsible for managing the process of the storage of sand delivered by trains, and for the sand drying process. We are also responsible for supervising and maintaining all specialist equipment used within the factory in many activities relating to the glass produced on float production lines. Work in relation to that new activity takes place 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. With that in mind, we had to prepare thoroughly before the contract commenced.

We started preparations to take over that business in September 2023. During that period, we visited several companies that produce wheel loaders for bulk materials, to choose suitable and reliable machines for the new business. Another very important element are people, their training certificates and licences. Our mechanics had to attend highly specialised courses and then pass exams set by an independent governmental commission. Our operators also attended specialist training sessions, allowing them to increase their skills and obtain licences for working with, for example, gas furnaces used for sand drying. The past 6 months have been very labour intensive, and we and our staff learned a lot about the new activities. Finally, we bought 2 new wheel loaders and a new tractor with  trailer, which complement our fleet portfolio perfectly. We hope that our customer will also be satisfied with that equipment and with the services we provide as part of our new contract.
